[How-To] Install OSX Lion on PC/Laptop The easy way :

 

This guide shows you how to upgrade a Hackintoshed laptop or PC to Mac OS X Lion. This guide was refined and edited by D3xus, and originally typed by TechXero.

What we need in order to do this:

a) an Intel Core2 Duo computer (mine Optiplex 760)

b) an USB key drive (8 Gb is fine )

c) an Hackintosh running Mac OS X to create Lion.dmg and USB Key Drive.

Boot up into Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard to begin.

Create OSX Lion for Hackintosh

a. Download Lion GM/Retail (11A511) The links can be found here

 

b. find InstallESD.dmg in “Install Mac Os X Lion.app/Contents/ShareSupport”

Open and mount InstallESD.dmg and show HiddenFiles, Find BaseSystem.dmg

inside InstallESD.dmg and mount BaseSystem.dmg

 

c. Using Disk Utility, you need to create an new image.dmg DVD 4 to 6 Gb read

and write , rename it Lion.dmg

 

d. Using Disk utility restore BaseSystem.dmg on the new image Lion.dmg

 

e. Mount Lion.dmg and rename the volume OSX LION Delete the packages shortcut or alias inside /System/installation and copy the real Packages folder from InstallESD.dmg to Lion.dmg inside the /System/Installation/ folder.

 

f. Copy the following .kext files on Lion.dmg inside /System/Library/Extentions

 

•  fakesmc.kext
•  nullCPUPowermanagenent.kext
•  ElliotForceLegacyRTC.kext -> this only if you experience Bios reset.

 

Copy Mach_Kernel from InstallESD.dmg to Lion.dmg

 

Copy OSinstall.mpkg patched for MBR inside /System/Installation/Packages (we’re not placing it anywhere yet.)

 

Copy OSinstall. (it has no extension) patched for MBR inside /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Install.framework/Frameworks/OSinstall.framework/Versions/A folder (again, just hold onto it.)

 

g. Install Extra_Lion.pkg on the Lion.dmg

 

h. Install Chameleon 2.0 RC5 -755.pkg on the Lion.dmg

 

Create a folder Postinstallation on Lion.dmg and copy the two pkg and the three kexts from before (Both OSInstall.mpkg’s and fakemsc.kext,nullCPUPowermanagenent.kext, and ElliotForceLegacyRTC.kext)

 

1. With Disk Utility repair the permissions on Lion.dmg

 

 

Create a Bootable USB Drive to Install OS X Lion

c. Install Extra_Lion.pkg to USB Drive

Install PC-EFI 10.6.pkg to USB Drive

Install Chameleon 2.0 RC5 -755.pkg to USB Drive

 

Boot USB Drive with OSX Lion and install

Turn off the computer

a) Boot newly created USB Drive With Disk Utility Create a HFS+ journaled partition, rename it “OSX Lion” (You can Install Lion on MBR or GUID partition)

 

b) Boot again with USB Drive and choose to boot HD, Install Kexts on S/L/E on HD with KextHelper, Install Extra_Lion.pkg to HD, Install Chameleon 2.0 RC5 -755.pkg to HD

 

c) Done.
